Announcing Releasat® for Steam!

SGM is pleased to announce the introduction of its new product the Releasat® Culturing Set for monitoring steam sterilization with 24 hour release.

This product for monitoring steam sterilization process consists of SGMStrips™ containing spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus (7953) and tubes of a specially formulated culture medium for the recovery of spores exposed to a steam sterilization process. This product is available in either a 105 or 106 concentration of spores on the SGMStrip. The 16 x 100 mm culture tubes contain 3.6 ± 0.2 ml of culture medium with a pH indicator which turns vivid yellow upon the growth of any viable spores.

Following processing, the spore strips must be aseptically transferred into the Releasat culture tubes. These inoculated tubes are then incubated at 60°C for 24 hours. If any spores survive the sterilization process, they will grow and change the purple medium to a vivid yellow.

The Releasat Steam Culture Sets comply with ISO 11138-1 and 3: "Sterilization of health care products - Biological Indicators - Part 1: General Requirements and "Sterilization of health care products - Biological Indicators - Part 3: Biological Indicators for moist heat sterilization processes".

These culture sets meet the USFDA reduced incubation time protocol for 24 hours. This reduced incubation time provides users with a rapid release of sterilized product.

The Releasat Steam Culture Sets are packaged in 100 test sets per box. A test set consists of one SGMStrip and one Releasat culture tube. The shelf life is 12 months.

Reorder #: RS5-100 for a 105 population and RS6-100 for a 106 population
Packaging: 100 count box
